Meet Jaouad
Founder · Certified Tour Leader · Morocco StorytellerBorn in a remote Amazigh village in Morocco's High Atlas Mountains, Jaouad's first language was Tamazight — the language of the Berber people, spoken in these mountains for thousands of years. Growing up surrounded by cedar forests, Berber traditions, and ancient mountain routes gave him an understanding of Morocco that no university alone could provide.
He went on to graduate from university and earn his official certification from Morocco's Ministry of Tourism. But he would tell you his most important education was the Atlas itself — learning to read landscapes, read people, and understand that the greatest gift a guide can give is not information, but genuine connection.
Today, Jaouad personally reviews every itinerary sent by Genuine Discoveries. He speaks four languages, handles every special dietary requirement, and has guided travelers with physical challenges, specific heritage interests, and everything in between — with the same warmth and attention.
